The Queen

Went in knowing that it should be a good movie, but didn’t really know what to expect. Came out very impressed with the acting of basically the entire cast, not just Mirren, who was of course very good. As with all films about real people, the actors look nothing like the person they are acting as, but the actors here were so good that during the movie I forgot that they weren’t the real people. However, the make-up was super good as well, because the actual Mirren looks nothing like she did in the movie. As well, when there were shots of the characters from behind, many of them look like the real thing. Scary. Also enjoyed Cromwell as Prince Phillip.

Wonderful movie and (for me) an insightful look into what went on behind the Diana crisis, though of course the film’s perspective on that and other issues won’t be agreed upon by everyone. Watch it anyway, you can’t lose. 92/100
